Fourth Of July At Omni La Costa

I hope everyone had a great Fourth Of July!! This was one of our most fun holidays to date! There is nothing quite like seeing the magic and enjoyment through your child’s eyes and now that Hayden is a little bigger (she just turned two), I feel like she really understood and enjoyed everything that was going on. We had a full day of festive activities and I couldn’t wait to share everything with you guys in case you are already planning next year’s Fourth Of July (I am totally guilty of this and it drives my husband nuts! haha).

We opted to celebrate at Omni La Costa for the Fourth Of July. Two reasons: 1. It’s our favorite family-friendly resort, the pools are amazing, the grounds are amazing, and it’s conveniently down the street from our house. 2. They have the BEST firework show in North County San Diego. Hands down! I should also mention that it was my mom’s birthday and of course we only wanted the best to celebrate her special day too! It was so fun being in this amazing resort, with so many festive activities, and with our whole family!

Since I keep talking about all their festive activities, here is their Fourth Of July schedule. It might vary in times from year to year but they always have a ton of entertainment.

Since it was my mom’s birthday, we sent her to the spa for the morning. The spa here is amazing and I try to have a “treat yo self” day here a few times a year. There is also a private pool for spa members only that is just divine!! I will do a separate post on their spa next time I go!

We spent most of our day swimming and hanging by one of Omni La Costa’s EIGHT pools. All of them are great, our favorites are the kid pool with the sandy beach entrance and waterslides or the adult pool over looking the golf course (when we are kid free)! We opted for lunch at the pool side grill.

After the pool, we headed back for the girls to take naps. I wanted to make sure they would last until the evening to watch the fireworks! At 5:00 we went over to the plaza to see what food trucks would be there. There were a few delicious options including an organic burger truck. I was so excited to have my burger, that morning I actually told Jeff I was craving a big juicy burger (because isn’t that what this holiday is all about?!). It was so nice to not have to worry about someone standing at the grill the whole time and cooking for everyone and the food trucks were super affordable. It was the perfect option (and I’m sure Hayden agreed)…

From there we went straight for the s’mores!! You guys… I LOVE s’mores. Like so much. The staff made it so easy for us with everything laid out ready to go. All we had to do was roast our own marshmello on the giant fire pit and then then graham and chocolate were there waiting on a plate. They even had different flavors of chocolate too! No mess or clean up and it was free! I have done this with the girls in the past so I think this might be a summer activity they offer, not just for the holiday.

We then headed back to our room to put on some warmer clothes and get ready for the fireworks (Hayden kept saying “ready for fire trucks”, it was so cute) The best part is… we could watch the fireworks from our room!!! We sat on the balcony and had a great view! The show was about 20 minutes long of huge, in your face, giant fireworks over the golf course. It really doesn’t get any better then that!!

We swam a lot, we ate a lot (especially Hayden), and we watched an amazing firework show! It was the perfect Fourth Of July!!
