On The Go In San Diego With The Brita Filtering Bottle

This post is sponsored by Brita but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Hi girls! I hope you all had a great weekend! Jeff’s niece flew into town today and we decided to play tourists on our way home from picking her up from the airport. I love having our friends and family come visit and going to explore our own city, especially the areas that we don’t visit often.

Today we stopped in La Jolla, California which is popular for its’ ocean view cliffs, sea lions, and art galleries. It was the most beautiful day and we had so much fun!

One thing we always pack to bring with us on our adventure days is water. I have been trying to find more sustainable methods over plastic water bottles and recently discovered the Brita Filtering Bottle. It is a durable, BPA-free bottle that includes a replaceable filter to reduce chlorine taste and odors. We also tend to go through water super fast so having a bottle like this that filters as you drink through the straw is so convenient. The Brita Filtering Bottle comes in six colors and can replace 1,800 plastic water bottles a year!

One of our favorite places in La Jolla to bring our guests to is the Children’s Pool Beach. This small beach has an old concrete breakwater from 1931 that keeps the water here more mellow and safer for small kids. If you aren’t planning to swim, you can walk along the pathway on top of the breakwater. It’s the perfect place to take in the views and watch the seals and other wildlife.

While taking in the beautiful scenery, it really set in that there will likely be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050 and that enough plastic to fill a dump truck ends up in oceans every minute. I definitely want to do my part in helping to preserve these beautiful waters, and using the Brita Filtering Bottle is a great first step!

My family is choosing to #PutFiltersFirst by replacing plastic water bottles with the Brita Filtering Bottle. I would love to hear what sustainable choices your family is making in the comments below!
