When it’s the last week of summer break AND 90 degrees outside.. you STAYCATION!! We had the best time this past weekend staying at The Cassara in Carlsbad, CA, which is actually right down the street from us. The hotel has a prime location, is close to the beach (with a free trolley shuttle), over-looks the Carlsbad Flower Fields, and is across the street from Legoland. There is even a pedestrian tunnel directly into Legoland from the hotel! The Cassara Carlsbad a gorgeous property with beautiful views, super family friendly, and tons of activities.
We were lucky enough to stay in one of their brand new two bedroom family suites, which was the perfect home away from home for us. One of the bedrooms contained two twin beds for kids and the other side of the suite had a king sized bed for adults. In between was a sitting area complete with a couch and TV. There were actually three TVs in the entire suite, that’s more than in our house, ha! Plus a mini fridge to store your snacks and food for grilling (more on that below). I gave an entire suite tour over on Instagram stories and saved to my highlights.
Our favorite part of The Cassara Carlsbad is….. it has TWO pool area: the quiet pool for adults and the kid pool complete with a super awesome splash pad. We obviously spent our entire time at the kid pool and had a blast! The deepest part of the kid pool was about 4.5ft deep and the shallow area was perfect for my 4 year old to stand up and have her head out of the water. Hayden must have gone down that water slide 100 times. I would love to come back one day with my hubby and enjoy the adult pool with its’ amazing views! It looks so serene to relax poolside and enjoy a cocktail there.
Another thing I loved about the kid pool was the socially distanced BBQ’s and lawn area next to it. We brought our own meat/veggies to grill up and had lunch right there at the pool. It was the perfect way to get in more time at the pool AND save money! In addition to the BBQ’s they have fire pits that make for the perfect place to end the day while taking in the views and making s’mores, my fav!
In addition to all these super fun activities, the resort offers convenient access to exciting water sports at the Carlsbad lagoon, scenic running and biking paths, golfing at The Carlsbad Crossings and outdoor shopping at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. There is a complimentary shuttle service within a 5-mile radius for guests, as well as Carlsbad’s one-of-a-kind Ride the Tide open-air beach trolley with daily service to Tamarack Beach.
I also wanted to mention that I felt extremely safe during out stay and a big part of that was their attention to detail and cleanliness. They have safety and social distancing guidelines being implemented and even contactless check-in via the Hilton Honors App. I loved the Lysol sanitized seal on our hotel door to ensure no one went in after it was sanitized before your arrival.
We had the best weekend at The Cassara Carlsbad and can’t wait to go back!
