It’s finally feeling like Summer here in Southern California! The marine layer is burning off, there are two days left of school for my girls, and the shorts are coming out of hibernation! The shorts I am wearing in this post are actually from Zara last year, but I am so excited the paperbag shorts trend is back again this year! In case you didn’t know, what makes bottoms “paperbag” is that they are high-waisted, have a tie belt, and have a scrunchy or pleated waist. A few reasons why I love the this shorts trend: 1. They are a little more dressed up then your typical denim shorts but require no additional effort. 2. They are super flattering and highlight the smallest part of your waist and 3. They are so comfortable! Here are a few quick tips for styling them and some of my favorites that are currently in my online shopping cart.
Tips For Styling Paperbag Shorts
- A fitted shirt, tank, or bodysuit tucked in. This will really show off your waist!
- A loose tank top tucked in for a more comfortable but still polished look.
- Graphic tee and sneakers… perfect for everyday mom life!
- A crop top for a more boho look. Would be super cute for a festival!
- A button down blouse tucked in with wedges for a classic feminine look.
- Have fun with a boldly printed pair, your shorts are the focus piece of your outfit.
- Add a blazer for the boss babe casual suit effect.
