Hi girls! I’ve been getting a few questions on my Instagram about the watch I’ve been wearing lately, so I decided to do a whole post dedicated to it! I’ve had my Apple Watch for almost 2 months now and I am loving it! Here’s everything you need to know:
My Apple Watch Review
Q: What Apple Watch do you have?
I have the Apple Watch series 5, rose gold, 40mm, light pink sport band.
Q: How often do you have to charge it?
I typically charge it every night, even though the battery can last longer then that (maybe like 2 days). I have a charging station in my bedroom where I plug in both my phone and my watch overnight.
Q: What do you use it for the most?
It is probably equally tied between tracking fitness (more info below) and finding my phone. You can ask Siri on your watch to make your phone chime, which is super helpful when my kids take off with my phone and hide it.
Q: How does it track your workouts?
There is a workout app on the watch that your can use to track. Select which type of workout you are doing (hiking, strength training, cycling, etc.) and it will track everything from your time, calories, distance, and more. There is also a heart rate monitor built in that can track heart rate too!
Q: Do you notice a difference in workouts while wearing it?
YES, in all capitals! For one thing, it is motivating. If I have a specific goal (distance, calories burned..) I can make sure I am meeting those during my workout. There is also this activity circle app that as you are working out, the circle gets filled in and it is so satisfying to complete, ha! I can also control my Spotify from my watch and read texts, so I don’t have to stop my workout to mess with my phone. I also have it synced with a calorie counting app on my phone so it can automatically import my workouts/calories burned into that. Lastly, there is a setting for the watch to remind you to stand every hour, which is great when I am working or sitting on the couch for awhile.
Q: What is the difference between active calories and total calories?
In case you aren’t familiar with the Apple Watch, it tracks both of these types of calories. The active ones are calories burned due to your added fitness. The total calories are the calories you have burned just by breathing, moving, etc.
Q: Do you use it to track your sleep?
I don’t currently, but have been wanting to try this feature! Like I said above, I charge it while I am sleeping.
Q: What are your favorite apps on the watch?
I use the fitness app, Spotify, messages, phone calls (my husband didn’t even realize I was calling him through my watch since it was so clear), weather, timer.
Q: Is it worth the money?
100% yes! I actually purchased mine from Costco for a great deal!
