As a mother of two, I have become much more aware of the ingredients in our food, things I use around the house and products I use on my body. My overall goal is to transition to a clean lifestyle, but I know that can take time and a ton of research! I started with a few minor changes that I thought would still have a huge impact. One I want to share with you today is my switch to an all natural deodorant. This change is super easy to implement (if you already wear deodorant everyday) and can have a huge positive affect on your health!
Most traditional deodorants contain aluminum and other harmful chemicals. These are what clog our pores to prevent sweating, so it’s no surprise that this produces some unwanted side effects. Here are a few of those possible side effects that encouraged me to make a change… An increased risk of Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and breast cancer. Also, many of these harmful chemicals can cause hormone disruption and lead to headaches. Um, no thanks!
After trying a few different deodorants, my most favorite is the Kopari Coconut Deodorant! It glides on clear, smells amazing, and has become a staple in my morning routine.
The Process
There is a process when switching to a natural deodorant. Your body needs to detox all those harmful chemicals you have been using and you might be sweatier then usual. Two things I recommend: 1. cut out refined, processed foods as these could affect your smell and 2. reapply a few times a day. It shouldn’t take longer then a week or two. This change to a natural deodorant is definitely worth it in the long run so stick with it!
