Hello, THIRTY!!!
I turned 30 this past weekend with the greatest friends, family, and food! We were originally going to celebrate mine and my husband’s birthdays this year with a big trip to Italy (he turns 40 this year). Unfortunately since the pandemic, we had to cancel all our travel plans. So instead of going to Italy… we brought Italy to us! At first I was a little bummed about having to cancel the trip and go with our plan B, but it actually was WAY better then I ever imagined. Being surrounded by family and friends to welcome the new decade was even better than being on a fancy vacation!
We live about 40 minutes from Temecula Wine Country, which is the perfect setting for an Italian vibes weekend getaway. We rented a HUGE Airbnb house that had the most spectacular views! The house was perfect for 20+ people and included 5 bedrooms, a pool, an orchard, and everything we needed!
The first night we had a catered Italian dinner for everyone from Macaroni Grill (my fav!). They came and set up a “make your own pasta” bar which included any pasta combination you could imagine. It was delish!
We tied in the Capri, Italy theme with tons of lemons, Mediterranean tiles, and bougainvillea. I actually made all the tiles using a stencil and some blue spray paint! The tiles were only $0.15 from Home Depot, which is way cheaper then actual Mediterranean tiles! The blue and white charger plates were from Hobby Lobby and the custom signs were from the cutest etsy shop. I also added some lemon pellegrino on the tables and bought these lemon cut outs to make a banner with.
It was the perfect way to ring in the new decade! My heart is so full!
