Happy Monday!
I have been seeing tons of talk on social media lately about skincare and anti-aging products. I love reading about what’s working for other people so I thought I would share mine with you today. As I get older, I have been thinking even more about my skincare and incorporating anti-aging products into my routine. Even with the added steps, I do still keep it pretty simple (because as a working mom of two I don’t have any extra time). I firmly believe that less is more and to use quality products over quantity. My routine I will share below has been working really well on my dry skin!
I’ve broken it down into three steps: products, services, and tips.
Products
Cleansers:
Purity Wash – My everyday wash, removes makeup.
Tula Face Cleanser – I have heard so many people rave about this product. Ordering ASAP!
Kate Somerville – Daily foaming cleanser that also gently exfoliates.
Kopari Rose Toner – This stuff smells amazing, along with all of Kopari’s products!
Phoenix Facial Oil – I’ve been seeing this product all over social media and really want to try it!
Charlotte’s Magic Cream – Yup, it’s magic.
ROC – Another affordable product that comes highly recommended.
Hydrating Eye Cream – Because I need as much hydration as I can get.
Coola – This is my favorite sunscreen brand and I just saw they started making sunscreen infuse makeup too!
CC Cream – I use this almost every day. It has a good amount of SPF, great coverage, and I just rub it into my face as I would a moisturizer. A little goes a long way and I wear the color light (it runs dark in my opinion).
Services
Since I know this can be a controversial topic, I am going to start this off my saying to each their own. It is your body and do whatever is going to make you feel more confident and beautiful.
My own personal opinion on these anti-aging services is… the more the merrier! Ha, kidding.. kind of. I think it is easier to prevent wrinkles then to try and undo them. As for when to start, if you can see the lines when you’re not making the expression then it’s time.
The only service I have experimented with is Botox (I started at age 26). I get 15-20 units total divided between my forehead and outer eye area. If you are local to San Diego, I highly recommend Momma’s Medi Spa.
Tips
Apply your products in the correct order. The thinnest ones go on first – cleansing, eye creams, serums (give them at least a minute to absorb), moisturizers, then oils if needed. In the morning, finish with sunscreen. In the evening, finish with a retinoid.
Make sure you are using a retinoid nightly (it stimulates collagen, fights wrinkles, and halts acne), and then wear sunscreen daily.
Use a sonic cleansing brush such as a Clarisonic Mia Prima. It removes dead skin cells and clears the way for better penetration of your products. You can real my post all about this device here.
To even out skin tone and brighten a dull texture, look for products with Vitamin C. It is the holy grail for fading brown spots.
To help with under eye bags, cut down on salt, increase water intake and look at whether certain foods (like wheat, dairy and alcohol) may be causing inflammation.
Stock up on moisturizer and hydrating masks as long-term dryness can lead to premature aging.
Love this blog!! You look amazing and are going to age like a queen no doubt. PS- I love Coolas tinted rolliansanse bb cream! Would have never guessed you got Botox! Your skin looks natural and not that forced look ❤️
