Hello, friends! Hope you are enjoying your week so far. It just started raining here in San Diego and it is scheduled to continue for the next five days. Ughhhh.. this girl needs sunshine!!
Anyways, I wanted to share with you a skincare device I have been LOVING lately. One of my “New Year’s Resolutions” (I hate that phrase) is to start taking better care of my skin. This includes wearing sunscreen daily, using anti-aging serums, and being diligent about removing my makeup. So when Clarisonic offered to send me their new Mia Prima I said yesssss, perfect timing! But just so we are clear, they sent it to me with no strings attached, the opinions below are all my own and I was not paid. But you guys, after using it for a few weeks, I don’t know how I ever lived without it. So, did I write an entire post dedicated to this one little device? Yes, yes I did.
Removing Makeup
Let’s talk about removing makeup and cleansing your skin, because after all that is the main purpose of the Clarisonic Mia Prima. It’s oscillating brushes clean your face 6x better and deeper then using a washcloth or your hands. I like to think of it as an electric toothbrush compared to a standard one. To test it out the first day I got it, I washed my face as I normally would and then used the Clarisonic. The brush head was filthy and I could see more makeup rinsing off. It made me realize that I was actually rushing through my night time cleansing routine, leaving behind a lot of dirt and makeup in the process.
Since I started using this device, my skin looks brighter and healthier and I have even noticed a dramatic difference in minimized pores. The deep cleaning of pores by removing buildup definitely makes them look smaller. It also allows your skincare products that follow to absorb better. Even my husband said he noticed a difference on the first day, and that’s saying something!
Applying Makeup
After watching a few reviews on YouTube about Clarisonic’s new makeup brush head, I immediately ran to my nearest Ulta to grab one. I was so anxious to try it out and see if it lived up to all the hype! It claims to apply foundation faster, create a seamless look, and be mess free. It also is said to use less product compared to a normal makeup sponge since it doesn’t absorb. You can use the brush head with cream blush, foundations, for contour, or any cream products (NOT powders).
And let me tell ya… now that I have one, it is living up to all my expectations! I am obsessed with this attachment! First I dap the foundation around my face with my finger instead of putting it directly on the brush. I then use circular motions and a light touch and it melts my foundation into my skin without any brush strokes. Next I apply a contour stick on my cheeks and forehead. Using upward circular motions to blend, it makes cream contour look way more natural. I have also noticed that when using it I don’t have product settling into my fine lines. This foundation brush attachment blends product without moving it everywhere and I love it!
I’ve been using the Clarisonic Mia Prima every single day for both cleansing and applying makeup. It without a doubt provides a better cleansing than my hands alone or any other cleansing device I’ve tried in the past. It is super easy to use, has one speed, and beeps to let you know when cleansing is complete. I think it is perfect for those new to facial cleansing brushes or prefer a simple, no-fuss device. It is definitely an investment product, but I do think that the spendy price tag is worth the splurge since you can use it multiple ways. Overall, the device itself worked wonders on me and yes, I would definitely recommend it to those of you wanting to step up your skincare routine.
