Easter Basket Ideas For Kids

Hippity, Hoppity… Easter’s on its way! Wait, already?

I am notorious for being last minute on everything holiday. Shopping and decorating the night before.. So this year (now that I have a blog haha) I made it a point to prepare early and hopefully help some of you mamas who might also be preparing Easter baskets last minute. I always try to think of things they need or incorporate items I would be buying anyways.

Their Easter baskets are from Pottery Barn and my mom purchased them for the girls last year. You have to purchase the basket and the custom liner separately. I know these are a bit expensive, but I plan to use them for years! In the past I have used cute baskets/buckets from Target that cost about $3 šŸ™‚

Chocolate Bunny – This is the most obvious item I always include. My mom would always put a white chocolate bunny (my fav!) in my Easter basket and it became a tradition I continue with my girls.

Easter Themed Snacks – My kids looove goldfish and I saw these Easter themed goldfish at Target. I thought it would be the perfect addition to their basket. This is something I would probably end up buying anyways, but love the festive theme!

Swimsuit – As the weather starts to warm up again (I mean add 5 degrees cause this is San Diego haha) we tend to increase our visits to splash pads, the beach, the pool.. Most likely they have outgrown or worn out their swim suits from the previous summer. This is the perfect time to pick up a new one and add to their baskets. PS. We love target swimsuits for kids!!

Easter Themed Book – Part of our bed time routine is reading a few books with the kids. We love adding to the collection so we have new books to read, something Easter themed or even bunny themed would be great to add to their basket.

Toys – Something small like a snuggly bunny.

Treats – I usually don’t let my kids have candy as they turn into crazy people when they eat it! Ha! But it’s a special occasion and the themed treats are just too cute to pass up. Plus, I could indulge in some too!!

Other things – Some items that I have added in the past to their Easter baskets: crayons, color books, sidewalk chalk, new shoes, gift cards (toy store or ice cream shop), sippy cups, hats, headbands in a Spring color, stickers..

I really like to try and keep things simple. Things that are practical and encourage more family time. It doesn’t need to be elaborate or expensive, just something for the kids to feel excited about and make them feel special. What are some of your favorite items to include in your kiddo’s Easter basket?
