Why You Should Visit Carlsbad’s Flower Fields

Spring is here!!!

This past weekend we visited the Carlsbad Flower Fields. The fields span nearly 50 acres and are full of ranunculus flowers in every color you could image. It creates the most spectacular display of nature, but they only bloom for about six weeks. I did not want to miss it!

Reason #1 to go: Do it for the gram!!! Ha! There are endless photo opportunities.

There were so many activities for kids, our girls had a blast! They both received a booklet upon arrival and had to hunt for the stamp stations throughout the gardens to fill up their books. They had all types of birds to look at, a living maze of sweet pea blossoms, open air wagon rides via an antique tractor, a whimsical playground, and even a mining activity. Kids are able to find polished gemstones using the miners old method of sifting sand. Our girls were so proud of the gems they found and got to bring their collection home.

There are food vendors at the flower fields on the weekends, mostly treats. One of our favorites is the Carlsbad Gourmet stand that offers everything strawberry… you guys, the strawberry milkshakes are just soooo good!!! They are located inside the Armstrong Garden, which you have to walk through to exit the Flower Fields. There are also vendors offering lemonade, kettle corn, etc.. You can even bring in your own food and they have several picnic areas.

If you are in the area or visiting then you absolutely have to go. It is incredible!
