My Low Sugar Coffee Recipe

Skip Starbucks and make this Low Sugar Coffee drink yourself at home! This easy recipe contains vanilla collagen creamer and monkfruit! It's still sweet and yummy, but healthier with low calories, low carb, and barely any sugar!

Good mooooorning!! I recently made a big switch in my morning routine and wanted to share it with you girls. We have a trip to Hawaii coming up in a few months (praying we don’t have to cancel due to covid), and it’s time to prep and get back on the fitness train. I have been working out more and looking for ways to cut back on my sugar intake. One of the most unhealthy items I was drinking daily was a vanilla chai that has 36g of sugar! That is basically a can of coke every morning… holy cow! So, I’ve been experimenting with different coffee combinations to try and find one I like, that is still creamy and sweet, but with wayyyy less sugar!

My Low Sugar Coffee Recipe

Coffee / Vanilla Collagen Creamer / Monkfruit / Coconut Beverage (from Costco)

To put it together, I first use regular hot coffee. Jeff makes a big pot in the morning and I just use what is left in there, roughly one cup. Add that hot to a cup and mix in one scoop of the collagen creamer and a spoonful the monkfruit. It mixes best into hot liquids. Once that is mixed, I fill it the rest of the way with the cold coconut beverage from the fridge. Let it sit for a minute to cool down before adding ice cubes to prevent melting. Enjoy with a straw!

This coffee only has 126 calories and under 4 grams of sugars!

A few notes:

I did make this with almond milk the first few times and it was still good if you prefer that. However, I do find the coconut to be way more creamy.

Also, I did not notice a difference in taste when I made it with two scoops (which is a full serving) of collagen creamer compared to one scoop, which is why I decided to stick with only one scoop.
