It’s been feeling like Summer for awhile around here in sunny San Diego, CA, but I just saw a few posts and advertisements for back to school and I panicked.. Is there really only a month left until school starts? Did we do enough fun activities? Since I am a serial list maker, I thought I would put everything I wanted to do this summer down on paper so I could make sure everything gets checked off. Whatever we haven’t already done, I have a month to make sure we do! So here is our Summer bucket list and I hope it encourages some of you to get out and do something fun this season!
My family and I already checked one item off of our Summer Bucket List by having a fun afternoon at the splash pad! We were actually loaded up and half way to the beach when my husband suggested we go to the splash pad instead. For some reason I always forget about it but the girls have so much fun when we go! There is a community pool there as well so the girls can practice what they have been learning in swim lessons. This sounded way easier then dragging an umbrella, chairs, sand toys and more down to the beach. I am so glad we did this, we all had a blast and it was the perfect way to beat this heat wave that is currently plaguing San Diego.
Some of our other Summer Bucket List activities include:
Bake a homemade berry cobbler
Staycation in our own town
Paint nails a super fun and bright color
Eat a snow cone
Enjoy a beach sunset with a picnic
Visit the county fair (Check!)
Sleep in a tent (Check! Gracyn and Jeff camped in our backyard.)
Go on a hike
Make homemade popsicles
Watch fireworks (Check! Read my Fourth of July post here)
Browse the farmers market (Check! We actually did this today!)
Run in the sprinklers
Roast s’mores at a bonfire (Check!)
Summer reading program at our local library
Make a bird feeder
Attend a concert in the park (Check!)
What has been your favorite activity this Summer and what are you still trying to fit in before school starts?! I’d love to hear! Feel free to share in the comments below so I can get some ideas from you to add to my list!
Oh how fun! I so have to do some of these with my boys! Thanks for the ideas!
