The Best Beauty Hacks For Busy Moms

I’ve always considered myself a busy gal, but since becoming a mom things have reached a whole new level. Can I get an amen?! As I’ve gotten busier, I’ve learned to be more time efficient and find hacks that help me look put together quickly since time is something I don’t have a lot of these days. Whether you’re busy on the go, have clingy kids, or just would rather catch a few extra Z’s than spend time getting ready, these tricks will help you look put together with minimal time and effort.

Because looking fabulous while toting around a toddler is a real struggle.

Tip #1 – Invest in time saving services: gel manicures, microblade your eyebrows, get eyelash extensions.. if it saves you time and makes you feel good about yourself, then I am all for it! I had my eyebrows microbladed last year and am still loving it! I just throw on some tinted moisturizer in the morning and I feel put together.

Tip #2 – Minimize your products. When I’m in a pinch for time, I like to minimize my products and try each product more than one way. For example, I use bronzer on my cheeks and in the crease of my eye for a little eye definition. The same can be done with highlighter. You can of course use it on your cheekbones, but you can also use it on your eyelid or the inner to brighten tired eyes. I also love pallets that have everything in one, like this Tarte palette or this Charlotte Tilbury palette. It eliminates any unnecessary decisions and I just use the same brush for everything.

Tip #3 – Use double duty products. For example, using a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen accomplishes three steps at one time: moisturizing, some coverage, and protection. I like to take it a step further and use this CC cream that is a foundation, moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, and anti-aging skincare all rolled into one. I live for these multitasking beauty miracle products!

Tip #4 – Embrace the messy bun. If you don’t have time to style your whole head, blow out just the front of your hair and tie the rest up into a bun. This is one of my favorite little tricks! It gives the illusion that you did your hair, when really you only spent a few minutes making the front look polished. I definitely recommend doing this with a round brush to achieve the smoothest look, while still getting some legit volume. I also am a huge fan of dry shampoo!! This is how I can go so long between washing my hair (read more about that here). Fun tip: For blondes, the white cast of the dry shampoo can be used to conceal roots.

Tip #5 – Don’t limit your beauty time to only mornings. I always do a sunless tan or paint my own nails at night. It’s relaxing and productive at the same time! If I know I have an early morning I will even shower at night instead. If you have to go to work everyday, use your lunch break to get a facial or manicure. The more beauty prep you can do throughout the day, the less you will need to do in the busy mornings.

Where there is a will, there is a way! Hopefully these tips help you to fit a beauty routine into your busy schedule and to look put together when you’re short on time (which for me seems to be always these days!).
